Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
OIKONOMOS (“OIKONOMOS”, “Oikonomos”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the OIKONOMOS personal-finance application available at oikonomos.cc (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
OIKONOMOS is a private personal-finance tracker that lets you record your income, expenses, accounts, cards and budgets in one place. You enter your financial information manually; OIKONOMOS does not connect to, or import data from, your bank.
2. Information we collect
a) Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile — your name, email address and profile picture. We never receive your Google password.
b) Financial information you provide. Any data you choose to enter into the Service, such as transactions, amounts, descriptions, categories, account and card names you type, and budgets. This information is provided by you and is never retrieved automatically from any financial institution.
c) Technical information. Like most online services, our hosting providers automatically process limited technical data (such as IP address, browser type and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention and reliability. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not track you across other sites.
3. How we use Google user data
We use Google Sign-In only to authenticate you and to create or access your account. We use the basic profile Google provides (name, email address and profile picture) to identify you, display your account and let you sign back in.
We do not access, request or store any other Google data. We do not read your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service.
Limited Use disclosure. OIKONOMOS’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, operate and maintain the Service;
- authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- store and display the financial data you enter, so it is there when you return;
- respond to your support requests;
- detect, prevent and address technical issues, fraud or abuse;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use your financial data for advertising.
5. How your data is stored and protected
Your data is stored using Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected with row-level security so that each user can only access their own data. We limit access to personal data to what is necessary to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information.
6. Service providers we rely on
We share information only with infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf to run the Service:
- Supabase — database, authentication and storage.
- Vercel — application hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Google — sign-in and authentication, only if you choose to log in with Google.
These providers are contractually bound to use the information only to provide their services to us.
7. Data retention
We retain your account and the financial data you enter for as long as your account is active. When you delete a record it is removed from your active data. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and edit your data at any time from within the app.
- Delete individual records, or request deletion of your entire account and associated data.
- Withdraw Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
To exercise any of these rights, or to request full deletion of your data, contact us at the address below.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your session and preferences (such as your light or dark theme). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. By using the Service you consent to such processing in accordance with this Policy.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Contact us
